Hello all! Later on this afternoon, I will be boarding a plane at Miami International Airport and heading for my eight day vacation to the Eternal City. Unfortunately, eight days is not long enough to see everything in Rome – that just means I will have to go back some time in the future. I am looking forward to visiting all the magnificent churches and the museums filled with breathtaking paintings, sculptures, and other artwork.
The seven of us land in Rome tomorrow morning at 8 o’clock local time. Our first challenge will be to get to the Pontifical North American College – we aren’t too sure how we are going to do that yet. We may end up taking the train to a central station then getting a taxi or something. We are playing that one by ear.
Some sites on our list of things to see include St. John Lateran, St. Peter in Chains, St. Paul Outside the Walls, and, of course, St. Peter’s Basilica (just to name a few).
If I have some time to post a blog while in Rome, during one of the city’s “naptimes, I will, just to keep everyone informed of what we are seeing. I look forward to sharing the many pictures I will be taking with all of you. Please say a prayer for us as we embark on this journey. Please know that all of you will continue to be in my prayers. God Bless!!
