Update!!

Hello all!! I know I have neglected to keep this thing updated lately, but, as you can imagine, I have been very busy. Between getting ready to leave and making sure everything gets done with the Altar Servers at church, I have not had even a few minutes to even think about updating my little site here. So, there is a lot to catch up on.

I did receive my letter of acceptance shortly after my last post. The date which all “new men” are expected to arrive in Miami was confirmed – August 7th. The parents and I will leave sometime in the morning as I have to arrive between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Needless to say, I am anxious to get down there to start this next chapter of my life. I am very much looking forward to my years in the seminary!

I am a little worried about the financial aspect of my schooling because I am responsible for all the expenses of the seminary until I reach the major seminary for theological training. The church has told me that they will help out in any way possible, for which I am extremely grateful!!!

The Council of Catholic Women at St. Charles have already begun assisting me by purchasing my alb, cassock and surplice. Thank you so very much!!!!! The Ladies Guild from Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Clermont has also offered some assistance through their Seminarian Trust Fund. The CCW and the Ladies Guild will receive a formal thank you from me in the coming weeks when I begin to write my many thank you notes.

There are also other people from the church who have offered some kind of assistance, both spiritual (prayers) and financial, to me as I begin this next part of my journey. For their support I am most grateful!!

When I get down to the seminary, I hope to update this thing at least three times a week to keep everyone informed about what and how I am doing. After all, this will be the only way to really communicate with everyone here in Orlando and my family and friends living in other parts of the country.

Waiting for Acceptance Letter

Hello all!! I wanted to keep everyone posted on my progress. I was told that I will receive a letter of acceptance from St. John Vianney College Seminary in the next couple of weeks. This is cutting it a little close but it is out of my control. I have been asked to report down to Miami on August 7th. So I have a little less than four weeks left with all of you here in Orlando.
